In-Kind Donations

What we accept:

We gratefully accept the following in-kind donations for our Emergency Food & Toiletry Program:

 

Non-Perishable Food Items

  • Including: canned and packaged dry goods such as soup, pasta and pasta sauce, cooking oil (approx. 500ml), canned tuna/salmon, milks in tetra packs, peanut/nut butters (small size), rice, cereal, baby food & formula, snacks, coffee, tea, sugar, etc.

  • We are unable to accept expired food items.

Thank you for checking expiry dates prior to donation!

Toiletries/Personal Hygiene Items

  • Including: toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner (approx. 500ml), deodorant, soap and body wash,  lotions, toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental, razors, tampons and pads, laundry detergent, makeup.

  • We are unable to accept most used toiletry items. Please contact us regarding specific donations.

Gently Used Smartphones

  • Have you recently upgraded your smartphone and would like to give it a new life? We accept gently used smartphones (in working condition, no major damage) for our Tech Support Program

  • We accept iPhones, Androids, and other smartphones in working condition! If you wish to donate your used smartphone, please include the charger and case when possible, and restore the device to factory settings for your privacy.

What we are unable to accept (due to limited capacity):

  • Clothing - including coats, shoes, underwear etc.

  • Furniture

  • Large Baby Items

  • Towels & Linens

  • Household Items

Donation Wishlist

  • Uber or Lyft giftcards

  • Shopping Bags (cloth, paper or reused plastic)

  • Body lotion (small or hotel-sized bottles)

  • Shampoo (full or medium-sized bottles)

  • Body Wash

  • Toothpaste

  • Laundry Detergent (individual pods are great!)

  • Rice

  • Snacks and Granola Bars

  • Canned Tuna and Salmon

  • Canned soup

  • Peanut Butter (small jars preferred)

  • Pasta and Tomato Sauce

  • Cooking Oil (approx. 500ml)

We also gratefully accept directed donations to our Emergency Food and Toiletry program, where your cash or cheque donation will be used by NSWC staff to purchase our most-needed items at that time, or restock pantry staples when we are at critically low levels.
